False Creek Vancouver

On a beautiful day, False Creek in Vancouver is a great place to go for a walk.  You’ll find a bit of something for everyone  along this route.

I walked about 15km over about 3 hours which included a variety of stops for photos along the way.

False Creek is a short inlet in the heart of Vancouver. It separates downtown from the rest of the city. It was named by George Henry Richards during his Hydrographic survey of 1856-63. Science World is located at its eastern end and the Burrard Street Bridge crosses its western end. False Creek is also spanned by the Granville Street and Cambiebridges. The Canada Line tunnel crosses underneath False Creek just west of the Cambie Bridge. It is one of the four major bodies of water bordering Vancouver along withEnglish Bay, Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River. In 1986 it was the location of the Expo 86 World’s Fair. You’ll find things for the kids to explore and equipment for them to play on, a variety of wildlife (including seals/sea lions in the fishing harbour), tons of interesting shopping on Granville Island, and some interesting works of art along the way.
